The prestigious “Automechanika Innovation Award” was announced in the run-up to this year’s Automechanika, the international exhibition for the automotive industry held every two years in Frankfurt.
OBD Matrix, TEXA’s new miniaturised on-board diagnostic tool, capable of identifying even sporadic and intermittent faults, was chosen as the top product in the “Repair & Diagnosis” class, that was packed with highly competitive products from leading manufacturers from all over the world.
In their announcement, the jury stated that TEXA had developed “the world’s first device that monitors all of a vehicle’s electronic systems while it is running – a very small unit, hardly any bigger than the OBD diagnostic socket in which it is inserted, that does not bother the driver”. The highly miniaturised OBD Matrix records all errors in all vehicle systems under normal driving conditions. This means that the mechanic does not have to keep the vehicle in the garage, where very often it proves impossible to reproduce the conditions under which a malfunction occurs.
